Safe Cholecystectomy with ICG: ELEPS Technologies and Expert Experience at the Moscow Conference
On May 23, 2026, Moscow became a hub for discussions on advanced surgical standards. The practical workshop “Fundamentals of Surgery. Safe Cholecystectomy” took place in the conference hall of the Artkort Hotel, bringing together leading specialists from across the country to address one of the most pressing challenges in modern laparoscopy — minimizing risks during gallbladder surgery.
Technological sovereignty and scientific foundation
Particular attention was drawn to the role of ICG visualization. This technology, implemented in the ELEPS endoscopic imaging system, enables surgeons to operate in 4K with fluorescent navigation. During a presentation by Professor A. E. Klimov, M.D., Associate Professor M. V. Kosachenko, Ph.D., and A. M. Leonovich, a unique method was introduced that combines ELEPS engineering solutions with fundamental scientific research.
This partnership between practicing physician-developers and a domestic manufacturer made it possible to implement a patented method for visualizing extrahepatic bile ducts (Patent No. 2860077), which is now setting new standards of safety in the operating room through the “Critical View of Safety” approach.
Program and expertise
The conference, organized by the School of Modern Surgery of V. N. Egiev together with leading scientific institutions, including the Regional Research and Clinical Institute named after M. F. Vladimirsky and Krasnogorsk City Hospital, became a platform for in-depth analysis of surgical practice.
Professor V. N. Egiev delivered a detailed review of video recordings of “simple” cholecystectomies, pointing out common mistakes that can be avoided. The developer team — Klimov, Kosachenko, and Leonovich — presented evidence supporting the effectiveness of ICG 4K by ELEPS, demonstrating that “smart” navigation turns surgical intuition into precise decision-making.
ICG 4K ELEPS offers:
— Ultra-high 4K image clarity
— Instant switching between visualization modes
— Clear contrast of anatomical structures
— Russian production and service support
The work of the expert community and ELEPS continues to reshape Russian medicine. The introduction of ICG technologies into everyday practice makes advanced medical care more accessible and surgical outcomes more predictable.
We thank the organizers and participants for the productive dialogue and their commitment to professional excellence.
