A fall from a crib resulted in serious health problems for a Muscovite. At the age of one and a half, the girl injured her nose and could not breathe until she was five. According to Adnan Yunusov, head of the pediatric ENT pathology department at the Federal Scientific and Clinical Center of Otolaryngology of the Russian Health Ministry, the restless little girl climbed out of the crib, but at the last moment lost her balance and fell face down on the floor. The main blow fell on her nose. Then doctors discovered a fracture, treated it, and discharged the child home. However, the girl could not breathe through her nose, the organ began to deform. In addition, impaired breathing prevented the normal growth of the front teeth and the formation of the facial bones of the skull. And chronic oxygen starvation, which the brain constantly experienced, hindered the child's development. Doctors discovered that the fracture had completely closed the right nasal passage. The surgeon had to dismantle the nasal septum and then reconstruct it from the patient's own tissue. Ultimately, the girl's breathing was restored, and her nose regained its proper shape.
