ElePS participated in the IV All-Russian School "Robotic Surgery in Urology. Reconstructive, Plastic, and Laparoscopic Urology." Participants were shown the capabilities of the domestically produced FiberLase U1 thulium laser system, which, thanks to its unique combination of wavelengths, enables precision soft tissue surgery and lithotripsy, including "dust" lithotripsy, using a single system. Every two years, the All-Russian School of Urologists is held in the capital of Barkortostan, bringing together the best urology specialists from Russia and abroad. The school discusses current issues in urology and oncourology that physicians face in their daily practice. This year's key topic is the surgical treatment of prostate cancer using various methods. "The goal of the school is to demonstrate that each technique has its own subtleties, nuances, and indications," commented Valentin Pavlov, Rector of the Belarusian State Medical University and Chief Urologist of the Volga Federal District. The school included thematic sessions and demonstration surgeries demonstrating modern surgical techniques for treating urological and oncological urological diseases using endoscopic, laparoscopic, and robotic technology in "Livesurgery" mode. Fusion biopsy training was also organized in the simulation center. In just two days, leading surgeons from Russia and abroad performed 15 surgeries, one of which was performed using the Fiberlase U1 laser system. Alim Mukhamedovich Dymov, PhD, Senior Researcher at the Research Institute of Uronephrology and Human Reproductive Health, performed transurethral thulium enucleation of prostate adenoma (TUEB). Leading international experts and scientists participated in the school, including Professor Wolf-Ferdinand Wieland of the Department of Urology at the University of Regensburg (Germany), Oliver Felthaus, Director of the Stem Cell Research Center at the University of Regensburg (Germany), Xu Wanhai, Director of the Department of Urology at Harbin Medical University (China), Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Yu.G. Alyaev, Professor B.Ya. Alekseev, Professor V.L. Medvedev, Professor E.A. Gallyamov, Professor D.V. Perlin, Professor A.I. Gorelov, and others. Such events enhance the professional skills and educational potential of physicians, as well as raise the overall level of specialized care for urological and oncological urological patients. In 2018, the school was attended by over 300 participants. Date: June 22-23, 2018 Venue: Ufa, Bashkir State Medical University, building 10, Teatralnaya St. 2/1.
