Scientific and practical conference of urologists of the Ural Federal District "Current issues in urology. Complications after urological surgeries"

On March 10, 2017, a scientific and practical conference of urologists from the Ural Federal District was held in Yekaterinburg. The conference, part of the Sverdlovsk Region Ministry of Health's 2017 Plan of Key Organizational Activities, was titled "Current Urology Issues. Complications after Urological Surgeries." The conference is held to improve the qualifications of urologists from the Ural Federal District and the Sverdlovsk Region. The forum venue features two halls, and the conference program includes 30 presentations from speakers from Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, Kurgan, Khanty-Mansiysk, and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug on the most relevant and interesting topics: - Prospects for the Development of Urological Care in the Sverdlovsk Region and the Ural Federal District; - Complications after Urological Surgeries; - The State of Urological Oncology Care in the Sverdlovsk Region; - Outpatient Aspects of Uroandrology; and others. The conference's scientific program is complemented by exhibits from a medical equipment and drug manufacturers' exhibition, featuring domestic and international companies. ElePS, for example, is showcasing its own urological products, including a new laser endourology kit. It should be noted that the event is timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of Vladimir Nikolaevich Zhuravlev – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Urology Department at the Ural State Medical University, Head of the Urology Clinic at the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution of the Sverdlovsk Region “Regional Clinical Hospital No. 1”, Chief Urologist of the Ural Federal District, Chairman of the Sverdlovsk Branch of the Russian Society of Urologists, member of the editorial board of four medical journals, and member of the European and American Urological Associations. The main merits and achievements of V.N. Zhuravlev: In 2006, he was awarded a diploma and the prize to the best doctors of Russia "Calling" for the creation of a new direction in medicine. Author of 28 inventions (12 of them are copyright certificates and 16 are patents for inventions), author of 370 scientific papers, 6 monographs. Author and head of the governor's program "Men's Urological Health". More than 1000 devices developed by him and his employees are effectively used in clinics in the CIS countries. Prepared 29 candidates and 5 doctors of medical sciences. On September 17, 2012, by the Decree of the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region No. 693-UG, he was awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the Sverdlovsk Region".
