In Simferopol, a two-day expert session on safety in laparoscopic surgery was held at the N.A. Semashko Republican Clinical Hospital of the Republic of Crimea.
The central focus was on masterclasses in performing cholecystectomy using fluorescence imaging (ICG). This technology allows surgeons to visualize bile ducts and blood vessels in real time, minimizing the risk of surgical injuries.
How it went:
With the support of ELEPS Scientific and Production Company LLC, five high-tech surgeries were performed, including:

Gallbladder removal for acute and chronic cholecystitis with ICG navigation.

Laparoscopic hernioplasty (treatment of inguinal hernia).

Experience exchange:
In addition to hands-on practice, regional physicians attended a series of lectures. Mikhail Kosachenko presented a detailed account of his experience with ICG technologies, while Professor Alexey Klimov analyzed complex cases in reconstructive surgery.
The ICG technique, demonstrated using ELEPS equipment, generated keen interest among Crimean colleagues and is planned for widespread implementation in the practice of the Semashko Hospital.
