The first Russian 4K endoscopic system with ICG fluorescence navigation has been successfully trialed at Moscow City Clinical Hospital No. 31.
From March 2 to March 27, 2026, clinical trials of the first Russian 4K endoscopic video system with ICG fluorescence navigation mode, manufactured by ELEPS (Kazan), were conducted at the surgical departments of City Clinical Hospital No. 31 of the Moscow Department of Health — the clinical base of the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University (RNRMU).
The trials were carried out by specialists of the Department of Hospital Surgery No. 2 of the Institute of Surgery, RNRMU, as well as the 1st and 2nd Surgical Departments of City Clinical Hospital No. 31. The system was used in both emergency and elective laparoscopic cholecystectomies, including complex cases.
It is important to note that the fluorescence mode was enabled using indocyanine green (ICG) — a fully Russian-made product, including the synthesis of the active pharmaceutical ingredient. Thus, for the first time in Russia, a complete domestic chain has been established: equipment + consumables for fluorescence-guided surgery.
What the specialists highlighted:
-
High 4K image quality;
-
Ease of switching the camera to fluorescence navigation mode;
-
Intuitive touchscreen control;
-
Well-designed ergonomics of the system;
-
Surgeon comfort at all stages of the intervention.
Conclusion of the trials:
The ELEPS system meets the needs of medical specialists, optimizes surgical care for patients, and improves the accuracy and safety of laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
The domestic 4K endoscopic video system ELEPS with ICG fluorescence navigation mode is recommended for implementation in emergency and elective surgical departments.
