On March 5, 2008, at 10:00 a.m., a scientific and practical conference for healthcare professionals entitled “Physiotherapy of Pulmonary Diseases” was held in Veliky Novgorod. The conference discussed the state of physiotherapy for pulmonary diseases in the Novgorod region, the use of medical equipment for nebulizer and oxygen therapy for respiratory diseases, and modern trends in the physiotherapeutic rehabilitation of pulmonary patients. An exhibition of medical equipment was held during the conference, presenting modern medical devices for diagnostics and physiotherapy. The conference was attended by physiotherapists, therapists, pulmonologists, phthisiologists, otolaryngologists, allergists, and general practitioners from Veliky Novgorod and the districts of the Novgorod region, as well as leading scientists from the Mechnikov Medical Academy (St. Petersburg) and the Ryazan Medical University.
