XIV Russian School of Operative Urology in Rostov-on-Don

The 14th Russian School of Operative Urology was held in Rostov-on-Don. This year's theme was "Minimally Invasive Surgery – Classics and Innovations. Testosterone Deficiency. Urinary Tract Infections." ElePS once again participated in the exhibition of medical equipment and pharmaceutical manufacturers. The Quasar laser endourology system, based on the FiberLase U1 thulium laser system, generated considerable interest among the School participants. Over the two-day event, approximately 300 urology specialists from across Russia attended. According to Professor Yury G. Alayev, Chairman of the Russian Society of Urologists and Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, "The main goal of the School is to train both young and experienced Russian urologists in standard and innovative urological procedures." The Russian School of Operative Urology program included 40 lectures, 20 surgical master classes, and 50 video broadcasts of innovative surgical techniques performed by the country's leading urologists. The event's scientific program consisted of seven seminars: 1) Upper Urinary Tract Infections; 2) Testosterone and Its Importance in Urological Practice; 3) Hormone Replacement Therapy in Men and Women; 4) Upper Urinary Tract Infections; 5) Urinary Tract and Genital Infections; 6) Pediatric Urology; 7) Stone Fighters in ICD Endosurgery: DLT vs. RIRS vs. PNL vs. MiniPNL. A knockout battle of experts. The country's leading simulation center for urology training held its workshop for two days. Simulation courses with hands-on training enable young specialists to master the most technically challenging aspects of modern surgery outside the human body, without the risk of serious complications. During the School, four courses were held on modern percutaneous nephrolithotripsy, ureterorenoscopy/transurethral urolithotomy, and basic laparoscopy skills.
