The Kaliningrad Regional Court upheld the decision of the Oktyabrsky District Court to collect one hundred thousand rubles from Kaliningrad Medical Unit No. 1 in compensation for moral damages to a patient who suffered due to the unprofessionalism of doctors, as well as 6,220 rubles for additional nutrition for the woman. The press service of the regional court reported that a Kaliningrad resident contacted the medical unit to clarify the nature of her infertility and surgical correction of the discovered pathology. Upon admission to the hospital, her health was normal. After laparoscopy, biopsy and rehabilitation therapy, the plaintiff's condition worsened, and after another operation, her condition became serious. In this condition, the woman was transferred to the Kaliningrad Regional Hospital, where she was diagnosed with peritonitis. The plaintiff required five more operations. An examination determined that a technical error occurred during an operation at Medical Unit No. 1—damage to an internal organ caused by an electrocoagulator, which subsequently led to peritonitis. After five operations, scars remained, requiring further plastic surgery to remove them. Source: ami-tass.ru
